Here we have two young gardeners planting tree seeds from Betley Court Gardens. The late Professor Godfrey Brown, who restored the house and grounds in the 70s along with his wife, Freda had a great philosophy regarding trees, 'Plant a tree; remember a friend". These seedling trees will either go into the gardens or be gifted to community garden projects.

The Peace sculpture, commissioned by Prof Godfrey & Dr Freda Brown back in 1995 has been restored and returned to the Peace Garden. It was moved during the rebuild of Betley Court after the fire in 2019 so that we would create a contractors' area. Family and friends will be marking Remembrance Sunday between 10-12 (9/11/25). You're most welcome to join us.

What to do with an old air raid siren from WW2? Prof Brown had the answer back in 1995 - get local artist to make a sculpture for the Peace Garden at Betley Court. Although it was removed during the rebuild after our fire in 2019, it's being restored by Su and will be reinstated in time for Remembrance Day.

As we reinstate the Peace Garden at Betley Court, the Peace Sculpture is getting some repairs and a fresh coat of paint. It got damaged during the rebuild after our fire when it made way for the contractors site huts.
