🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Calling all young runners! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

St Peter’s Athletic Club, Lurgan, is delighted to invite pupils to take part in this year’s INTO Kids 1K Fun Run, hosted as part of the Rock the Lough & Lakes 2026 event! 🎉

Sponsored by the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation (INTO), this is a fantastic opportunity for children of all fitness levels to step away from their screens, enjoy some fresh air, get active and proudly represent their local school community! 💪🌳

📅 Date: Sunday, 13th September 2026
📍 Location: South Lake Leisure Centre
📝 Sign-Up: From 8:30 AM onwards – register on the morning
🏁 Race Starts: 9:20 AM

🏅 Every finisher will receive a medal!
🏆 Trophies will also be awarded to the top 3 boys and top 3 girls!

And that’s not all… there will be plenty of well-earned goodies and sweets waiting at the finish line! 🍬🎉

So, get your trainers on, bring your friends and classmates, and come along for a fun-filled morning of running, laughter and community spirit! 🙌

Welcome back everyone!
We celebrated our first school assembly of our new school year together.
Mr MacDonald took assembly today to remind us about our school values, our school motto and our kindness tree.
Miss McKavanagh introduced everyone to this year’s play leaders and anti-bully ambassadors who will be out and about during P1-P4 break time.
We had our first award winners of the school year. Well done for such an amazing start to the school year. Congratulations also to all the children who shared their achievements in dancing, athletics and football from outside school time!
A big happy birthday to the birthday boys and girls this week. They are 53! Enjoy your special celebrations 🎂

Bookings can be made through the School Shop on the School Money App.

⏰ The School Shop will go live at 8.30am on Friday 4th September.

P4-7: 9am -3pm
School finishes at 2pm on Fridays for all classes.

The EA is reminding parents and carers that help and information is available as schools across Northern Ireland prepare to welcome pupils back for the new academic year.

A number of dedicated helplines are in place and further information and details of support are available through the EA website and social media channels. This covers a range of areas, including special educational needs (SEN), school transport, free school meals, uniform grants and admissions.

Children with a statement of special educational needs who need a special diet may be entitled to Free School Meals support.

Does your child have a special dietary requirement? Have you notified your child’s school about it?

Special diet applications should be completed when the diet is:
◾ medically prescribed eg food allergies
◾ religious or cultural reasons
◾ vegetarian or vegan

Parents/guardians/caregivers have a crucial role in providing these details to their child’s school. All special diets must be notified to the school using our Guidance for the provision of Special Diets in schools form. This form should be submitted when your child joins a school and/or starts taking school meals, or when your child is diagnosed with a medical condition or allergy/intolerance requiring an adjustment to their diet or how the food is served.

Upon receipt of the completed form for medically required diets, your school will contact you and facilitate a meeting with you, the school and the school’s catering manager. The arrangements for provision of your child’s meals will be discussed and agreed ahead of the special diet being provided.
