This is the official page for current, former and potential members of 293 (Cowbridge) Sqn Air Training Corps, their friends, their supporters and their colleagues in other squadrons. It'll keep everyone abreast with what's going on in the squadron today as well as serve as a link to the past, between friends and between the squadron and the local community. If you are interested in joining the sq

uadron, it parades at its headquarters, just off Aberthin Road on the outskirts of Cowbridge, near the comprehensive school, every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 1900hrs.

ISCRM 2025

2 cadets from 293 (Cowbridge) Sqn recently competed in the final Inter Service Cadet Rifle Meet (ISCRM) at Bisley as part of the 3 Welsh Wing shooting team.

Over the last 6 months, they have spend long weekends away at RAF Cosford & Sennybridge Camp, plus a full week at the pre-ISCRM camp, training with the L81 A2 competition rifle. This was to put in the hours to develop their skills to be able to competitively shoot at 300m, 500m & 600m distances.

Over the course of the training & ISCRM competition, they have achieved Bronze, Silver and Gold marksmanship badges which is an amazing achievement considering they had no previous experience of shooting the L81 A2 rifle before the first training weekend in February 2025.

I am very proud to have been the Team Manager and Team Coach for this incredible team of cadets.

3 Welsh Wing Shooting Team - ISCRM 2025

Over the last 4 months, cadets and staff from across 3 WW have spent long weekends away training with the L81 A2 competition rifle in readiness for the Inter Service Cadet Rifle Meet which is held in July at Bisley. This is the last year this competition is being held as the rifle is going out of service and 3 WW have 2 teams entered.

FS Vlad & Sgt Boole have been selected from Cowbridge Sqn to be part of the 3 Welsh Wing team and I am pleased to be the team manager & coach.

Fantastic night learning all about archery 🏹 tying in with Archery GB’ start archery week. Looking forward to developing our skills and getting some competitions going this summer ☀️

Our recent winter season presentation evening was a night filled with many achievements for all our cadets at 293 Cowbridge Squadron.
Many gained their First Class and Leading classifications, First Aid qualifications, Blue Leadership badges, Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award, Presentation Skills and Blue Space badges. Congratulations on all your hard work and keep aiming high ✈️

Congratulations to the cadets and NCO’s who participated in Rotary International Youth Speaks Competition. You individually put in a lot of work and made 293 Squadron proud.
