Understanding Pregnancy and Early Parenthood Through a Neurodivergent Lens.

This is for neurodivergent parents-to-be and new parents, including pregnant women, dads and partners. It may also be helpful for parents who are autistic, ADHD, anxious, sensory-sensitive, overwhelmed, or struggling with organisation, routines, emotions or body signals. A diagnosis is not needed to attend.

The sessions will help parents understand how pregnancy, birth preparation and early parenthood can place extra demands on executive functioning, sensory processing and interoception.
We will look at things such as planning, appointments, routines, decision-making, emotional regulation, sensory overwhelm, sleep disruption, feeding, crying, visitors, and how these demands can increase once a baby is born.

This is not medical advice or parenting instruction. It is neurodivergent-affirming support to help parents understand their needs, reduce shame, feel more prepared and communicate more confidently with midwives, health visitors, family members and support services.

The sessions will run on:
Monday 20 July
Monday 27 July
Monday 3 August
