Looking for work experience in Coventry where you can be creative, build your skills and make a genuine difference?

Work experience should help you learn, build confidence and leave you with something you're proud of. That's exactly what we've tried to create.

We're excited to be offering a 2-week Communications, Social Media & Content Creation Work Experience Placement through Coventry's Youth Trailblazer Programme.

This isn't about making tea or photocopying paperwork. You'll work on a genuine communications project that supports the charities' work while developing practical skills in social media, content creation, digital marketing and creative communications.

Whether you're hoping to strengthen your CV, build a portfolio or simply explore a creative career, this placement is designed around your interests, your learning goals and the communications needs of the charity.

No previous experience is needed—just enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to learn.

If you're aged 18–21, live in Coventry and are currently not in education, employment or training (NEET), we'd love to hear from you.

Nathan's Story: From Street Homeless and Sofa Surfing to Volunteering with Bardsley Youth Project.

When Nathan was kicked out of home at 16, he was street homeless - or when he was lucky he found a sofa or a floor in the dry. After a while he found temporary accommodation in young people’s hostels like the YMCA, but these were often very short-term solutions and he regularly had to return to sofa surfing, which is what he was doing when he met our workers and started to come to our groups.

Monica wasn’t sleeping rough — but she didn’t have a home. When Monica came to us, she was sofa surfing after her family relationships broke down. Monica had no income, was running out of places to stay, and didn’t know what her next step could be.

With the right support at the right time — housing advice, help to access benefits, someone to attend interviews with her, and practical items to set up her first home — Monica was able to move into supported accommodation, gain employment, and rebuild her confidence. Homeless has far reaching effects beyond just housing stability. We offer lots of different type of support that we tailor to the needs of our individual young people. We support young people to not only find and secure accomodation but to keep it, equip it and flourish in it.
