The Conservative mayoral candidate has just said that she wont introduced any extra car parking charges for her home town of Goole. Yet it’s so clear that the Conservatives are going to introduce car parking charges in Cottingham.

The Conservatives have just signed-off a budget to spend £10 million on a footbridge in Beverley. Whilst making hundreds of local council staff redundant.

Cottingham has been left behind by years of Conservative underfunding within our village….

What an absolute joke!

Margaret Pinder is Labour's candidate for the East Yorkshire mayor position in May. She is the only candidate who can articulate a vision and strategy for our area.

The other parties are already spending a fortune on leaflets, but there's no substance in any of it.

**Labour to crack down on antisocial behaviour through the introduction of Respect Orders.**

Our MP, Diana Johnson, in her role as Policing Minister, made a statement to House of Commons yesterday outlining how Labour is changing the law to tackle antisocial behaviour.

"In the last year of the previous Government, shop theft soared by 29% to a 20-year high; street theft surged by 40%, and antisocial behaviour reached new heights in our towns and cities. That is the Conservative party’s legacy on law and order."

What Labour is doing:

1) Pledging £500million to policing and restoring community patrols

2) Introducing Respect Orders, banning offenders from town centres and forcing offenders to seek alcohol and drug treatment.

3) Cracking down on off-road motorbikes in public parks, dangerous e-scooters on pavements and street racing.

4) Introducing a new, specific offence of assaulting a retail worker. Labour will end the effective immunity for shop theft of goods under £200.

We are sad to hear of the passing of John Prescott. John lived in Cottingham twice. He supported Cottingham Labour Party and our candidates.

He was a highly intelligent, funny and generous man.

RIP John.
