When was the last time you saw a hedgehog? Do they visit your garden? Hedgehogs along with a number of other species are facing a serious decline. In an effort to help reverse biodiversity decline, West Northamptonshire Council are developing a Local Nature Recovery Strategy which will map existing habitats and identify areas for creation and improvement, with the aim to help wildlife thrive. You can now have your say as the strategy is out for public consultation. You can do so with the attached link.

Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS) are new spatial strategies for nature and environmental improvement required by law under the Environment Act 2021

The hedgehog is one of a number of species disappearing from our countryside fast and West Northamptonshire Council are developing a Local Nature Recovery Strategy to help map, protect and enhance local biodiversity. The draft strategy is under consultation which is seeking public input on priorities,species and habitat projects. You can have your say using this link.

We are consulting on our Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) – a new plan to restore and safeguard nature in our area. It sets out where and how we can best work together to help wildlife, habitats, the environment, and people across West Northamptonshire.

Being a local councillor is a definite plus point to add to a CV – it shows you can make decisions, work in a team, are community minded and proactive. Prospective employers will be impressed.
