You have been asking us what happens next after the Local Government Reorganisation consultation closed at the end of March this year.

We are now waiting for a government decision, on the submitted proposals, which is expected in July 2026.

There is a clear transition process if changes are approved and any new unitary councils would come into effect in April 2028, following a phased transition.

Until then, services will continue as normal throughout We have updated our shared website explaining the next steps towards Local Government Reorganisation in Greater Lincolnshire.
