Britain Needs Reform

From policing, to justice, to housing, to access to public services, ordinary British people are being treated as second-class citizens in our own country.

Cornwall knows this all too well. We’ve been treated as second-class for years, whether it’s our children standing on overcrowded school buses, underfunding at school or our communities coming last.

I was delighted to accept an invitation from the Chairman of Roche Cricket Club to officially open their impressive new ground. The club now boasts two excellent pitches, allowing them to host two home matches simultaneously, a fantastic boost for local cricket.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Roche Rock, it is a truly beautiful facility. I formally opened the new ground by cutting the ribbon and was pleased to watch both teams secure victories in glorious sunshine.

I have also contributed £150 from the Councillor’s Community Chest towards a new storage shed for the club. I look forward to joining the club myself soon and getting out on the pitch with bat in hand.

Supporting grassroots sports clubs like Roche Cricket Club is at the heart of what Reform UK stands for: strong families, thriving communities, and a proud country. These are the places where local people come together, children learn teamwork and discipline, and lifelong friendships are formed.

Roche has long been a solid Reform stronghold and, having been born and bred here, I am especially proud to support its growth.

Today we remember D Day, one of the most important moments in British & European history. On 6 June 1944, thousands of brave men crossed the Channel knowing many would never return. They fought to defeat tyranny, defend freedom & protect the nations, cultures & traditions that make up the United Kingdom.

The sacrifice of that generation should never be forgotten. Unfortunately, too often it feels as though the values they fought for are being overlooked. They gave everything to secure our borders, our sovereignty & our way of life for future generations.

We owe those heroes more than remembrance. We owe them a country worth defending.

A Reform government would put Britain first by properly supporting our Armed Forces, our veterans & our national security. Instead of cutting defence while billions are spent on a growing handout system, we should be investing in the men & women who protect our nation.

Today we honour the courage, sacrifice & duty of those who landed on the beaches of Normandy.
We will remember them.
