On 2 June, Corby Heritage Centre was proud to be represented at the official unveiling of the new Community Training Vehicle for the North Northants First Responders

Hosted at Lakelands Hospice, the event highlighted the incredible work both organisations do for Corby and the wider area. The new vehicle will help the First Responders Team deliver essential, life‑saving training directly within our communities.

Corby Heritage Centre was pleased to attend the Midland Parks Forum on Thursday at the historic Cromford Mills. The event, delivered by The Arkwright Society and the Forum, focused on partnership working, income generation and embracing new ways of thinking within the heritage sector.

The guided tours of High Peak Junction, The Pump House and Middleton Top Engine House were fantastic, each one showcasing the rich industrial history that makes Cromford such a special place.

Thank you to everyone at the Midland Parks Forum and across the Cromford sites for such a warm and memorable visit — rain and all. And yes, a piece of proper Wensleydale from the Cheese Shop made the perfect finale.

Billy and Matt had a fantastic meeting with Dr Mike Rogers at The National Archives , exploring new ways to work together and get expert support as we continue developing our collection.

What a day at Corby Heritage Centre!

We kicked things off with Love Corby – Meet the Member, welcoming 50 members for networking, fresh ideas, and a deep dive into Corby’s history, Northamptonshire , and updates from across the service.

This included the latest on Discover Northamptonshire with the Local Visitor Economy Partnership and a look ahead to the Tourism Awards 2026!

Brilliant to see so many new faces—our Love Corby community keeps growing!

We were also delighted to host the Mayor of Corby Town Council, Cllr Callum Riley, for a really positive conversation about how we continue to shape and share our town’s unique story.

A huge thank you to our fantastic volunteers and staff - today’s success, along with recent events at Deene Park Estate with The Sealed Knot and the Northamptonshire Heritage Fair at Wicksteed Park, wouldn’t have been possible without your support.

We had a fantastic time at the Northamptonshire Heritage Fair at Wicksteed Park on Sunday! 😊

A huge thank you to the organisers and hosts for putting on such a welcoming and well‑run event, and to all the brilliant exhibitors who made it such a great day.

It was especially lovely to catch up with Cornerstone Kettering , The Chester House Estate , Discover Northamptonshire , North Northamptonshire Greenways, Jeyes Earls Barton , Burton Latimer Historical Society, Northamptonshire Archaeological Resource Centre and the Northamptonshire Archives and Heritage Service .

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat – it was great to share stories and celebrate Northamptonshire’s rich heritage together.

We had a fantastic time celebrating 10 years of Love Corby with colleagues and partners last week. A brilliant milestone for a network that continues to bring people together and shine a spotlight on everything Corby has to offer.

We’re excited to share that Corby Heritage Centre will be exhibiting at the Northamptonshire Heritage Fair at Wicksteed Park this Sunday!

This brilliant annual event brings together museums, archives, heritage groups, societies, historic homes and more from across the county — all showcasing the stories, objects and places that make Northamptonshire’s history so special.

You’ll find us inside The Pavilion from 10am–4pm, alongside a fantastic range of stalls and displays. It’s completely free to attend (normal parking charges apply), so it’s a perfect day out for families, local history fans, or anyone curious about the heritage on their doorstep.

We’re looking forward to chatting with visitors, sharing Corby’s rich history, and celebrating the amazing work happening across the county. If you’re heading over, please come and say hello!

A big thank you to the Northamptonshire Heritage Forum for hosting such a great AGM at Boughton House.

It was a pleasure to be involved and to spend time with so many organisations and individuals dedicated to telling Northamptonshire’s stories. Events like this remind us how strong and collaborative our heritage community is.

Great to visit our colleagues at Cornerstone Kettering this week to see the roof works progressing so well with Messenger BCR Group - Messenger Construction Ltd, Messenger Building Repairs Ltd.

We’re excited for the building to reopen later this year and for the opportunities ahead to work together in sharing our local stories.
