SPRING BULB PLANTING - Request for support on Saturday 25th October!

Do you have an hour free on Saturday morning, a sharp spade and would like to contribute to a local project which will make people smile in the springtime? If so Cookham Parish Council would love to have you join us to help plant the spring bulbs for next year!

We will be planting in a variety of locations across the Cookhams, and hope to get the bulbs in before the ground gets too cold. We will be gathering at 10am on Saturday morning and aim to finish planting before midday (dependent on the number of volunteers - many hands make light work of course).

Please email me to let me know if you will be able to spare an hour to help.

hope to see you Saturday!

Request re Rubbish - if the bins are full, please take your rubbish with you.

Late yesterday evening, we had a report of a huge amount of rubbish left on Odney Common. As well as the usual picnic items and empty alcohol containers, there were also used disposable BBQs in among the rubbish. This is not only a fire risk in this hot weather, but against the by-laws governing the use of the common. BBQs are not allowed on common land.

Our Mayor Mandy Brar went out at 630am and bagged up the rubbish ready for collection. She no doubt will have asked for this to be collected asap on Monday.

We have had another fine day on Cookham and we want to keep it clean to be enjoyed by everyone; please take your rubbish with you if the bins are full. It is not only unsightly but encourages vermin when not securely disposed off.
