I was delighted to be invited along to today’s Mayor making ceremony in Durham town hall, the new mayor of Durham city cllr Amanda Hopgood went out into the street with her body guards to give silver coins to a child who was In Durham on holiday.

Thanks to the couple of residents who spoke to me at the market on Saturday with issues they would like me to look in to they will be reported today, you may have seen the post on chatterbox on Saturday having a go at me about the state of the arcade between the car park and middle street, this isn’t council land it’s private owned by the neighbouring dentist, I’ve raised the issues with him many times and will do so again and look to get a permanent resolution.

What a turn out for Mays market ! The feedback has been fantastic, really makes all the hard work worth it seeing the town centre so busy.
