The weather was kind to us for our Open Day yesterday, and withheld the rain that was forecast. The day was well attended, with people of all ages fascinated to discover the secrets of the herb garden, and learn about the history of the Bath House. Many return to find out how the garden has developed, and still more are surprised to discover this haven so close to the centre of a town they thought they knew.

The sun is shining, the Quince tree is flowering, and the volunteers are busy getting the garden ready for our Open Day on Saturday 9th May. Do come along between 10am and 4pm for a chance to see inside the Bath House, and to tour the Physic Garden with a Medical Herbalist. Children are welcome, and will be able to follow the garden trail developed by Congleton Museum last year. They may even be able to try one of the activities being prepared for our Garden Stories project, to be launched in the summer.

We had beautiful warm sunny weather this morning for our tasks of mowing the lawn, clearing the gutters and replanting a border in the lower garden. We hope that the plants settle in well and that the weather is kind to us once again, for our Spring Open Day on Saturday 9th May. Perfect for sitting on the lawn with tea and cake, and learning about History, Horticulture and Herbalism.
