A man who was seriously injured in a collision near Colne has sadly died.

Emergency services were called at 6.48pm on Sunday (June 7th) to Skipton Old Road to a report of a collision.

Our officers attended and found that a Volkswagen Passat CC, which was travelling towards Colne from Skipton, had collided with a stone wall and overturned.

A passenger in the car, a man in his early 20s, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital. Very sadly he succumbed to his injuries last night. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.
The driver of the Passat, a man in his 20s, suffered minor injuries.

We are once again appealing for witnesses or anyone with information or footage to contact us.

Det Sgt Daniel Gunn, from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This collision has cost a man his life and my thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this time. I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened or who has dashcam footage from the area, to get in touch.

“We know that some people saw the Passat being driven prior to the collision and also that there were people who stopped at the scene to help before the emergency services arrived.
“I would ask those people to come forward if they haven’t yet spoken to police.”

If you can help or have information, please contact 101 – quoting log 1177 of 7th June – or email our Serious Collision Investigation Unit at [email protected]

Relaxing at a spa with friends is a great day out.

But it will be a while until the four men in this picture - Matthew Waterworth, Regan Burnie, Paddy Nolan and Ross Boys - will be wearing white robes and enjoying a pampering session.

They are among 10 men who were jailed last Friday for being involved in a drugs gang who supplied and distributed co***ne in Colne, Nelson and other parts of East Lancashire.

Paddy Nolan (pictured) was at the head of the group, with him responsible for sourcing multiple kilos of co***ne from outside of Lancashire and bringing it into the county for distribution by other members of the gang.

Evidence was gained during the investigation by Lancashire Police's East Targeted Crime Unit into the gang that Nolan had amassed a significant amount of wealth and had access to large amounts of cash, allowing him to live as lavish lifestyle.

Ross Boys was one of Nolan’s most trusted mid-level marketeers and a trusted member of the drugs network.

He supplied mid-level amounts of co***ne to other dealers in East Lancashire.

Darren Mott was the gang’s cash courier, making frequent journeys from Manchester to Lancashire and only staying a short time in Lancashire.

The 10 men were given sentences totalling more than 52 years at Burnley Crown Court.

Operation Warrior is our response to tackling serious and organised crime in Lancashire and delivering on Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw's Fighting Crime Plan priority of disrupting and dismantling organised crime.

Good Evening,

We have listened to the communities feedback about how you would like to see more Police patrolling in Barnoldswick so......

Last night to kick start this glorious bank holiday weekend, x10 Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team and Specials were out on foot patrol from the late hours of the afternoon until midnight.

From patrolling the busy town square to the numerous pubs and bars in the area, we had no issues whatsoever throughout the whole night which was good to see.

To follow up from this, today your officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team were on the Town Square for a few hours, listening to concerns, feedback and engaging with the community.

We would like to say we appreciate everyone we spoke to over the last two days as the feedback ,support and information we have received has been brilliant and positive.

Furthermore, this type of engagement and event will not be just a one off, we will make this a regular thing and try to be out in the community and the vibrant square as much as we can.

If you didn't manage to catch us over the last few days and would like to address any issues, ask us anything or pass us any information, we can be contacted on the details below.

Again thank you for the support and feedback we have received and we hope you all have a brilliant bank holiday weekend.

Good Afternoon,

This week is Op Sceptre: a national initiative operation aimed at reducing knife crime using a variety of methods including proactive , reactive and educational.

Throughout this week a number of these tactics have been employed, including...

- Educational visits into local schools to deliver Knife crime and safety inputs,
-Test purchasing of knifes in local stores,
-Knife sweeps in our local parks from Brierfield all the way through to Barnoldswick,
-Knife arch deployed at Nelson Bus/Train Station.

With help of our partners in Trading Standards, we have conducted 5x visits to local stores, one store failing by selling a knife to a child. They are being dealt with by our partners as a result of this.

Multiple bladed articles of all sizes have been handed in/found and have been placed into our knife bin at Pendle Police Station.

Whilst this type of police activity goes on throughout the year, this week serves as an opportunity to amplify some of the tactics and highlight the efforts made.

Knife crime is a blight across the country and many seem to be unaware of the risks taken in carrying one "for their own safety".

If you have any information in the relation to knife crime in your area, call up on 101, report it via the online portal or report it anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Good Evening,

Yesterday, Pendle Neighbourhood Policing Team attended a property in Barnoldswick , which we believed to be a cannabis grow....

And we was right 😃

Entry was forced, and a cannabis grow in the loft of the property was located and was seized shortly after.

We do NOT tolerate this illegal activity and we will continue gathering intelligence to find and dismantle these farms.

We would like to stress the impact cannabis can have on our communities.

From dangerous wiring and the electricity being bypassed, as well as to links to organised crime groups, it can have devastating effects. It is also ILLEGAL.

As always if you have any issues, would like to ask us about anything, or would like to pass any information to us confidentially, I can be contacted directly on the numbers below.
