A tutor from Nelson and Colne College Group (NCCG) has been named runner-up in the prestigious Outstanding Tutor of the Year award, presented by the Further Education Tutorial Network (FETN).

"Don't be limited by your background, or, where you think you belong, or what you think you can achieve. Aim high and don't let anyone tell you that you don't 'belong' in your chosen career or training.”

This is the advice of former Sacred Heart and Colne Primet student, Pip Matthews, who is now a Professor of Accounting at Durham University and also Deputy Executive Dean of Durham University Business School.

Did you know an Emmy-nominated animator attended Primet? Rik Goddard used our fourth storey art rooms to hone his creative talents and has since gone on to work with renowned clients such as Coca-Cola, BMW, McDonald’s, Sony, ASDA/Wal-Mart, BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network.

A number of local employers have already committed to attending the Pendle Education Trust Careers Day in April.

They'll be delivering hands-on activities, promoting the key skills needed for careers in their industry, inspiring our primary and secondary aged children to aim high in the future.

Our annual Careers Day, which is attended by children from our five primary and secondary schools, is taking place on Thursday 18th April.

This year we are holding the event at West Craven Sports Centre, next to West Craven High School.

Around 70 former pupils from the class of ‘93 at Primet High School in Colne were reaquainted in a special reunion.
