Nursery enjoyed their Daisy Dander in aid of Cancer Fund for Children to the park today. They brought their teddy bears too. A special thank you to Eabha’s mummy Christina and to Dale Farm for donating some delicious ice cream for us to enjoy, it really helped to make the experience extra special! 🐻🍦

🎶 Scór na bPáistí 🎶
Huge congratulations to our pupils today who competed in County Derry Scór na bPáistí.
Our amazing instrumental group achieved a well-deserved 3rd place and our solo singer had an outstanding performance to claim 1st place! 🥇

Many thanks to Alisha who helped prepare the children 👏🏼

📚 Year 3 and Year 4 Shared Education 📚

Year 3 and 4 had a wonderful morning with their friends from Kilrea Primary School. They participated in a range of activities including coding on the iPads and a STEM challenge. It was so much fun!

💻 Digital Literacy and AI 🤖

Today we welcomed Eamon, Luke, Matt and Mick from the Nerve Centre to deliver engaging workshops for our Year 6 and Year 7 pupils on digital literacy, artificial intelligence, and how to identify misinformation and disinformation online.

The pupils were challenged to spot artificially generated images and videos, discovering just how convincing AI-created content can be. It certainly wasn’t easy!

The sessions were both informative and thought-provoking, helping our pupils develop the critical thinking skills needed to navigate the online world safely and responsibly.

A big thank you to the team for such an enjoyable and valuable learning experience! 👏💻🤖

🕊️ Feast of St. Columba ~ 9th June 🕊️

Today, we celebrated the Feast of St. Columba, patron Saint of our school and of County Derry on 9th June. To mark this special feast, Year 3 pupils performed a wonderful assembly this morning. Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and family members who joined us. 🙏🏻🕊️

✔️ Add each child for whom you have parental responsibility and who will be attending full time at school or Regional/FE College to your application

✔️ If children are aged over 16 and you’re unsure whether they will return to school or change schools, add on the application the child’s name and the name of the school your child waiting for results is most likely to attend

✔️ Inform the Meals and Uniform Section by phone or in writing if this information changes. You can do this by emailing [email protected]

Your child’s funding will be delayed if you do not add them to your application before submitting.

We were delighted to officially receive our 8th Green Flag Award this morning — a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work and commitment shown by our whole school community over the past two years.

A special word of thanks goes to Mrs McGuckin and our Eco-Committee who have been instrumental in organising and carrying out Eco activities throughout the school.

We are incredibly proud of this achievement and look forward to continuing our journey towards creating a greener, more sustainable future. 🌍💚♻️

🥇🥈🥉 Sports Day 2026🥇🥈🥉

Thank you to everyone who helped make our annual Sports Day at Pearse Park a memorable occasion on Friday. We were especially lucky with the amazing weather, which made it even more enjoyable for everyone. A special thank you to Mrs McAlary for coordinating all the events on the day.

Thank you, as always, to Kilrea GAC for use of the pitch and club grounds and to Chrissy Quigg and Paddy McAlary who were our goalies for the penalty kick. 🎉🏅
