As we stand down from cover at this year’s North West 200, we want to take a moment to reflect on what has been another incredibly busy, challenging, and rewarding week for all involved.
For the past week, our volunteers have worked tirelessly across the Triangle and Pit’s area, providing 24/7 cover since last Sunday to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of racers, marshals, spectators, officials, and the wider public during one of the biggest sporting attractions in Northern Ireland.
It is always a privilege for St John Coleraine to play our part in such a prestigious event. Throughout the week, we have worked alongside the St John Regional Team, Logistics and Control Teams, Coleraine & District Motor Club, fellow St John units from across Northern Ireland, the emergency services, and many partner agencies. We have also continued to support the many events taking place across the Causeway Coast and Glens area — and to say it has been a busy week would truly be an understatement.
None of this would be possible without the commitment, professionalism, and dedication of our volunteers, who give up their own time to serve others. Your hard work, long hours, and teamwork do not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful to every single person who played a role this week.
We would also like to acknowledge the kindness and generosity shown by local businesses who kept our teams fed and watered throughout the week — your support means a great deal to us, and we will thank you properly in a separate post.
As we reflect on the week, we also pause to remember Kamil Holán. Our thoughts and prayers remain with his family, friends, and all those affected at this difficult time.
Finally, thank you once again to our Events Lead and every volunteer who helped ensure the safety of our little area on the North Coast. We are proud to stand together in support of our communities and this world-famous event. 💚🚑
