MULTI-AGENCY INCIDENT

This evening, Community Rescue Service volunteers were requested by our colleagues in the Police Service of Northern Ireland to respond to a person in distress who had entered the River Lagan.

Our rescue boat arrived swiftly on scene, alongside Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service personnel who deployed a specialist rescue swimmer to establish contact and keep the individual afloat. The person was then transferred onto our rescue boat, where first aid was administered immediately before handover to Northern Ireland Ambulance Service colleagues.

We would like to extend a special thank you to City Centre CCTV who we regularly work closely with. Their involvement was vital to the successful outcome of the rescue.

Effective, close collaboration among emergency services ensures a coordinated and timely response to incidents like this.

All hands on Deck!!

The upkeep of our boats and vehicles are very important to the Community Rescue Service these must be ready at all times when needed.

Operation Boat clean took place to get it cleaned and back in the water. This boat is used when needed on The Lagan and on our patrols on a Friday and Saturday night. A very important part of our kit. We'll done to the cleaning team.

OVER FOR ANOTHER YEAR

Yes, sadly we all have to wait another year for the next North West Truck Run.

The weather stayed good as trucks gathered at the University of Ulster, Coleraine ready for the truckers to come along and get their diesel fix.

To bring the event to a close, we had ourselves a convoy as the drivers took the display on the road to drive the route of the NW 200 motorcycle race, led by the Land Rover as seen on Car SOS.

As the Truck Run grows year on year we would like to thank everyone who made it such a success.

So, a massive thank you to our volunteers, to the companies and drivers for taking part, to the public for their continuing support and to our event sponsors... CP Hire, Castle Engineering, Fridge Freight, LW Surphlis, and RTU Concrete - without all of you it wouldn't happen.

See you all for the North West Truck Run 2027.

p.s. comment below and give yourself a gold star if you spotted the movie reference...
