📢SOS Causeway Hospital are deeply concerned as some begin to push a narrative of 'populism' and 'misinformation'.

Many have worked on this from it became known to the public; researching, investigating and communicating, with medical professionals, staff, service users and community representatives involved. In fact, we even presented to the CC&G council to ensure aa many elected reps as possible would work to ensure the necessary data and evidence was available BEFORE the decision making process.

SOS Causeway Hospital will continue to call for evidence based decisions where clinical, operational, demographic and financial evidence and planning to be made available.
We welcome the motion tonight at council and we will continue to call on ALL elected representatives to scrutinise the evidence thoroughly and ensure any decisions are truly in the best interests of patient outcomes.
Please tag your elected reps in the comments.

👂HAVE A LISTEN TO THE UTV NEWS CLIP FROM FRIDAY 28TH AUGUST BELOW
The recent manoeuvres at Thursday's NHSCT Board Meeting where Surgeons made a presentation to the Board which did not feature on the agenda and also invited media to attens rhe night before, is NOT common as much as the effort has been made to have you believe.

This does however confirm serious concerns we have:
Is this decision focused on better patient outcomes or is it focused on a surgery schedule?

📌We know not ALL surgeons are NOT comfortable and in full agreement with this.
📌We know Emergency Medicine and other medical professionals expressed serious concern of the impact of this decision.
📌We know signicant evidence and data has still not been provided to demonstrate this will result in better patient outcomes.

The fight for our local hospital continues.

Great points made by retired consultant physician Dr Owen Finnegan earlier this week on BBC Radio Ulster 👏

Well said Adele and Clíodhna!👏👏
Let's look at the evidence & consider the alternatives, with transparency!
Not forgetting of course, there is evidence in other areas of how this panned out. Just ask SoS Daisy Hill Hospital and Save Our Acute Services.

📢WATCH THURSDAY'S HEALTH COMMITTEE MEETING!
SOS Causeway Hospital welcome the new Health Minister. We particularly welcome questioning yesterday via this committee meeting and thank all who contributed.
While this is lengthy, we ask the public to watch (particularly from 28 mins on) as this further consolidates much of what we have consistently raised. Link ⬇️

We look forward to further thorough examination, communication and publication of solid evidence prior to any decision.

⚠️UPDATE
We will not stand by while attempts are made to minimise and patronise our campaign. We base our decisions on robust evidence, and we expect the Northern Health and Social Care Trust Board to do the same, especially when dealing with matters of life and death.
Throughout this process, we have consistently asked for clinical, operational, financial and demographic evidence.

In addition, we continue to work to give voice to healthcare staff who have been afraid to speak out or who attempted to speak truth to power, only to be told to remain silent.
