That's why today Connie Egan MLA has brought forward an amendment to the Justice Bill to repeal them, bringing NI into the 21st century.

Joint statement from Party Leaders:

As leaders of Northern Ireland’s main political parties, we are united in our condemnation of the horrific incident in North Belfast last night.

There is no place in our society for this kind of brutality. Our immediate thoughts are with the victim and his family, and we hope he makes a full and complete recovery.

Our thoughts are also with those eyewitnesses to the incident, as well as those brave members of the public who intervened.

We recognise the distress and fear this incident will cause within the local community. We urge people not to share the deeply disturbing images or videos, as their graphic nature would only serve to retraumatise those involved.

We support the Police Service of Northern Ireland in their ongoing investigation and urge anyone with information, or relevant footage, to assist them. It is essential that the facts are established through proper investigation and due process.

We are committed to ensuring that violence and hatred in any form will not be allowed to divide our communities. We call for calm and for space to allow justice to take its course.

The incident in North Belfast last night was truly horrific.

My thoughts are with the victim, their family. and the members of the public who showed courage in intervening.

The video circulating is deeply distressing and I would urge people not to share it further.

There can be no place for this kind of violence in our society. We must stand together in condemning it and allow the PSNI the time and space they need to carry out their investigation and bring the person responsible to justice.

Armed Forces Day is coming to Coleraine this month!

📅 Saturday, 20 June
🕙 10am–4pm

Coleraine Town Centre and Christie Park will transform into a hub of activity from 10am to 4pm, in what promises to be a memorable day for the Borough, with around 25,000 people expected to attend.

While final details are still being confirmed, visitors can look forward to a packed programme of events including military tradition, musical entertainment, family-friendly activities and opportunities to honour the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community.

This is an event where we come together to recognise serving personnel, veterans, reservists, cadets and military families in what is set to be a special day for Coleraine.

Classic Mini Show – This Saturday! 🚗

Get ready for an afternoon of classic cars, live music and family fun as the Norn Iron Classic Mini Club (1959–2000) comes to Coleraine Town Centre this Saturday, June 6th from 12-3pm.

Admire iconic Minis, enjoy live performances from The Rock Choir and Jamie Sloan, and keep the kids entertained with face painting and balloon modelling.

⚠️ Mini Owners – Important Information ⚠️
All Classic Minis (1959–2000) should meet at Tesco Car Park (River Bann side) at 11.30am.

The convoy departs at 11.45am sharp, travelling up Brook Street and into Coleraine Town Centre via the traffic lights beside Ground Coffee.
