Times change, the spirit endures... on the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we remember 6th Airborne Division.
In the early hours of 6th June 1944, some 8,500 British and Candian troops landed by parachute and glider to spearhead the liberation of Western Europe.
The troops were tasked with securing the eastern flank of the invasion beaches, and successfully secured bridges, destroyed artillery, and caused confusion and distraction for N**i forces. The division was withdrawn from battle on 27th August, having lost 821 men, with 2,709 wounded and 927 missing.
Today's airborne soldiers serve under the same Pegasus emblem, as a reminder of the standards of bravery, endurance, and humility set for them.
