🎒 Back to school in Myland! ✏️

As children across our community return to school this week, finding out about their day can sometimes be a challenge.

This helpful video from Talk, Listen, Cuddle shares some simple ways to encourage children to open up about their school day, without asking them directly.

Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEfMfzzWVVk

Wishing all Myland children, families, teachers and school staff a happy and positive start to the new term! 💙

In this video is Jo, Language and Communication Strategy Officer in Essex, talking about the best way to find out what your child has been up to at school when they return home (without actually asking them!) Click the link in comments for more tips and articles on the Talk Listen Cuddle website

💛New Defibrillator for Myland

Myland Community Council is pleased to announce that a new publicly accessible defibrillator has been installed at the MCC office on Nayland Road.

Funded by the council, the defibrillator is available to the local community 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We hope this important addition will provide extra reassurance to residents and support our commitment to the health and safety of the local community.

Our sincere thanks goes to Steve at Trotman Electrical Services, who kindly fitted the defibrillator free of charge.

The unit will be maintained by Myland Community Council, helping to ensure this potentially life-saving equipment remains ready for use when needed.

🎓 Good luck to everyone receiving their A-Level results today!

We’d like to wish all the young people in Myland and across our local community the very best as they receive their results today.

Whether you’re heading to university, starting an apprenticeship, going into work, taking some time to decide what comes next — or today hasn’t quite gone to plan — remember that there is more than one route to where you want to be.

Whatever your results, be proud of how far you’ve come and excited for what’s ahead. 💜

Congratulations from everyone at Myland Community Council! 🎉

🌒 Look to the skies tonight, Myland! ☀️

Something rather special is happening this evening – a partial solar eclipse will be visible across the UK, including here in Myland.

The eclipse begins at around 6.15pm, with the maximum eclipse taking place shortly after 7pm, so if the weather is kind to us, it should be well worth stepping outside to see!

🔭 You can find out more about today’s eclipse, including how to watch it safely, from the Royal Observatory Greenwich.

If you manage to get any photos from around Myland, we’d love to see them in the comments! 📸🌒

Learn more about the best solar eclipse visible from the UK and Ireland so far this century, when around 90-96% of the Sun will be covered by the Moon
