The Ministry of Parenting We are a Colchester-based company that works with children, young people, parents, professionals, and organisations

Our Page is open to the public so we do not accept friend requests but PLEASE like, follow & Share. Our main activities are the delivery of a range of parenting groups/workshops, young peoples workshops, one to one parent coaching and professional parent programme training. We support parents, young people and professionals on all aspects of parenting i.e. ADHD, self-harm, tantrums, positive discipline, managing the teenager years and separation issues.

📣 We still have a couple of places available on our FLASH Group Leader Training this July!

FLASH (Families Learning About Self-Harm) is a 10-week parent group programme designed to support parents of young people who are self-harming, and to help families navigate the wider impact this can have at home.

This multi-agency training gives professionals a detailed understanding of the programme’s values, core principles, and session-by-session delivery. Trainees will receive the full FLASH programme manual, plus access to additional protocols for:
✔️ online delivery
✔️ supporting parents of young people with ASD

If you work with families and would like to feel more confident supporting parents around self-harm, we’d love to hear from you.

FLASH (Families Learning About Self-Harm) supports parents and carers of young people aged 11–17 to better understand self-harm, strengthen relationships, and feel less alone.

While we await funding decisions, which we know takes time - and for some families, waiting isn’t always possible. This course offers a way to access support now, for those who feel ready and able to do so.

As a Community Interest Company, income from our fee-paying and commissioned work is reinvested into our community - helping us offer support to children, young people and families who may otherwise face barriers.

🎉 A huge thank you to Sarah Brazier!
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Sarah Brazier. Sarah has dedicated 17 years of service as a volunteer Non-Executive Director, supporting the growth and development of MoP every step of the way. She has guided us through challenges, kept us grounded, lifted us when we needed it, and celebrated our successes alongside us.
Sarah is now moving into a new role as Chair of our Business Advisory Board. While we will miss her in her Non-Executive Director role, we are delighted that she will continue to be part of our MoP family in this new capacity.

Our FLASH trainer in Dorset Luke Webb received this letter from 2 FLASH group leaders from Dorset, South Coast Medical Group, who are delivering the FLASH (Families learning About Self Harm) parenting programme to families directly through GP surgeries in Bournemouth and Christchurch. The letter is a summary of the feedback they have had from the parents. Amazing work by the group leaders and Luke !!!!!
