Our Members of MPS Res Coy showcased a unique skill set when recently taking part in Ex Kukri Dawn where they were embedded within 43 Commando Fleet Protection Group to assist in a terrorist scenario giving Military Aid to the Civil Authorities. Working along side Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance service and Scottish Fire & Rescue all operating together at a simulated fi****ms incident at the home of Scottish rugby, Murrayfield Stadium.

Helping the Marines deepen their knowledge of CPERS handling, transitioning from military detention over into civilian Police custody.

This unique opportunity was brought together by the Army’s 51 Brigade, Police Scotland and the RAF. This exercise prepares Chinook aircrew for front-line duties.

We have Sgt Jones (A) now into his final stages of preparation to travel to Italy to compete in Run Rome The Marathon on Sun 22 March 2026 where he will be competing against 36,000 people.

This is something he has trained for in his own time ensured he has the correct training gear, race entry, flights and accommodation, all financed by himself.

The reason he is taking on this challenge is to raise money by completing this world recognised marathon which is part of the European Marathon Classics series so he can give back to the charity Mid and North East Essex Mind towards mental health 💚

All he asks is:

"Any donational support is appreciated as it fuels me to keep going when it gets tough"

A very special day for the MPS Regt

With one of the largest contingents for several years, members of the MPS Regiment, led by the Commanding Officer, Lt Col Carter MBE and the Regiments senior Warrant Officer, WO1 (RSM) Batterham, came together today to pay their respects in a poignant remembrance parade at the Field of the Remembrance at Westminster.

It has been an active first week for DSC 242, those attending the course were successful in selection from the appraisal week. DSC 242 started phase one of the course undergoing training in service custody.

We look forward to receive those attending the Detention Specialist Course (DSC) 242 Appraisal week, this is an opportunity for those attending to promote their talent which they can promote into the MPS Regt.

Those successful will be invited to attend the DSC and be transferred into the MPS Regt on completion.
