Big thank you the cadets and staff from 2078 (Boscobel) RAF Air Cadets Squadron that joined the Bilbrook Village Tidy this morning, good efforts all round and a good amount of litter was collected for disposal. Feedback from the organisers was very positive as were the comments made by the general public. Well done 2078 (Boscobel) Squadron.

Join 2078 (Boscobel) Squadron as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV)!

We’re looking for supportive, enthusiastic adults to help run activities, support events, and guide cadets as they grow in confidence and skill.

Flexible Roles to Suit You:
Whether you can spare a few hours or more, there’s a role for you—from Civilian Instructor to Uniformed Staff.
Training and support provided—no military experience required.

Interested? Message us here or email [email protected]

A typical joining process will be:

Submit online application
Visit our Squadron
Have an informal interview (usually when you make the first visit)
Get access to the RAF Air Cadets online system to complete the final forms
Have a DBS check
After your DBS is successful, you’ll be able to attend your chosen squadron and help with activities on a 6-month probation. During this time you’ll complete our mandatory Adult Volunteer Induction Course. After your 6 months you can then attend external activities too.

The time from initial enquiry through to starting as a volunteer with your chosen squadron will vary, but on average it takes around three months. This is due to the enquiries that need to be made, including a DBS, as part of our safeguarding checks.

Let’s build something great together.
Step up. Volunteer. Inspire.

Four cadets had the incredible opportunity to take to the skies with 8AEF RAF Cosford last week. With clear skies and perfect flying conditions, they enjoyed breathtaking views of the Shropshire landscape from above. Cpl Bahra, Cpl Camilleri, Cpl Sangha, and Cdt Whitehouse made the most of the experience, soaking in every moment of their unforgettable flights. A truly remarkable day!

Wow—just wow! Our three cadets have truly gone above and beyond during their practice for the upcoming 41st Chase Walk later this month. Today, they accomplished an absolutely incredible 40km trek, walking tirelessly from 09:30 to 21:30. The weather was kind throughout the day, even allowing for a well-earned ice cream break. But as the sun set and the temperature dropped, they showed remarkable resilience, pressing on into the night. What an extraordinary effort!

Our Cadets had a fantastic night tonight and owe a Massive Thank You to Sgt Moore for attending Squadron and demonstrating his trade as a Survival Equipment Specialist
A really interesting night and a great insight into another area of the RAF which we wouldn't normally get to see

Congratulations to the cadets of 2078 (Boscobel) Squadron for crafting fantastic RAFAC-themed decorations! Special thanks to the cadets who used their skills and creative flair to decorate the tree, now proudly displayed at St. Nicholas’s Church, Codsall. We've received plenty of compliments on our tree, especially the streamers and RAF roundels.

Our tree is part of the 2024 Christmas Tree Festival at St. Nicholas’ Church Codsall which is open to the public on Friday, 6th December, and Saturday, 7th December, from 12:00 to 17:00, and Sunday, 8th December, from 12:00 to 16:00.
