🎶 There’s only one way to conclude a Dolly Parton assembly… a 9 to 5 singalong! 🎶

This week, our Years 2–6 Monday assembly reflected on the incredible life and legacy of Dolly Parton — exploring how her journey, generosity and determination connect with our value of the week 'empathy'.

From her humble beginnings to her global impact, Dolly’s story reminded us that staying focused on our dreams, showing empathy towards others and embracing new beginnings can help us make a real difference.

And, of course, there was only one way to bring our assembly to a close in true Dolly style…

🌟 Celebrating Success 🌟

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the amazing achievement of two of our pupils, siblings Finn and Izzy, who have successfully climbed Mount Olympus in Greece!

Aged just 7 and 9, they reached Mytikas, the 2,918m summit of Greece’s highest mountain, on the 10th August 2026.

Their three-day expedition was no easy feat. After tackling more than 1,100m of ascent on the first day, they took on steep and technical terrain, using helmets, harnesses and ropes as they scrambled through the Louki Couloir to reach the summit.

At just 7 years and 7 days old, Finn is believed to be the youngest British person to have reached Mytikas, potentially beating the previous record set in 2023!

With no known record for the youngest British female climber, 9-year-old Izzy may have achieved something equally remarkable!

This incredible accomplishment was the result of months of preparation on the local fells taking on challenging scrambles and mountains under the guidance of their parents.

But this adventure was about much more than reaching the summit. It was about experiencing the highs, the challenges and everything in between — and most importantly, doing it together. ❤️

🌟 One more sleep! 🌟

The countdown is nearly over… tomorrow we welcome our wonderful children back to school and, in many cases, to start their school journey. ✨

Our staff have had a fantastic and informative day of INSET training, planning and time to make sure everything is just right for the return.

Alot of work has also taken place across the school as part of our continued cycle of premises improvement.

Now the classrooms are ready, the pencils are sharpened and the school is waiting for those smiling faces! ❤️

We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow.

See you all bright and early in the morning!
