JOB ROLE- SUPPORT WORKER

GMD Homecare is looking for dedicated individuals to work in the Bothwell and Uddingston Area. A Driving Licence and access to your own car is essential. Shift patterns include evening and alternate weekends.

Job Title: Homecare Support Worker
Organisation: GMD Community Services
Location: Lanarkshire & Glasgow
Hourly Rate: £8.45
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Various available – including evening and weekend work

Overall
Reporting directly to GMD Manager, the Support Worker is employed to provide personal care and assistance to clients as normally provided by a carer, in the person’s own home or outside the home as directed by the manager. Duties will be as specified in individual care plans and in accordance with national Code of Practice for Social Care Workers as well as GMDs policies and procedures and Health and Safety requirements. You may be required to work unsupervised or alongside other support workers, staff from other agencies in accordance with the care plan.

Duties & Responsibilities
As a Support worker you will be assisting the client with daily living in accordance with the individuals care plan:
Duties may involve:
• Toileting needs and management of continence
• Hygiene and personal cleanliness
• Dressing and Underdressing
• Getting in and out of bed and/or wheelchair with hoist or specialised equipment if necessary
• Assisting the client to pursue leisure and occupational activities and providing social stimulation both within the home and outside including es**rt duties.
• Aiding in the rehabilitation process or undertaking specific tasks in accordance with medication instructions and the direction of the manager
• As part of the care package, maintaining satisfactory domestic standards including:
• Keeping the working areas clean and tidy
• Cooking and preparing meals for the client
• Essential laundering
• Maintaining a safe environment

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate must have:
• A drivers licence with access to a car
• Be able to work evenings and weekends
• Can work individually or with a partner
