As part of NHS Golden Jubilee’s commitment to sustainability, our Borrow Cup scheme continues to deliver measurable environmental and financial benefits.♻🌍

Since launching during World Environment Week last year, the scheme has:

- Eliminated approximately 72,800 single-use cups
- Reduced carbon emissions by an estimated 1.8 tonnes
- Delivered annual savings of around ÂŁ14,000, now reinvested into frontline patient services

The scheme provides a simple, flexible approach to reducing waste while supporting more sustainable behaviours across our organisation.

This week, our staff have been busy raising awareness of dementia as part of Dementia Awareness Week across NHS Golden Jubilee đź’™

Throughout the week, staff have been hosting information stalls, education sessions and activities to help improve understanding of dementia and the support available for patients, families and carers.

Our amazing volunteers came together for a Canal Walk as part of Volunteer Week đź‘ź

Organised by a group of volunteers, the walk brought volunteers from across different services together, giving them the chance to connect, enjoy the outdoors, and support their health and wellbeing.

Today, we were delighted to welcome the new Cabinet Secretary for Health and Care, Angela Constance, for a visit highlighting the success of the National Elective Service.

The visit highlighted our leading role in orthopaedics, including becoming the UK’s largest centre for hip and knee replacements. Over the past year, more than 5,900 procedures were carried out, reflecting a significant increase in capacity and continued progress in reducing waiting times.

The visit also demonstrated how innovation, including robotics and improved patient pathways, is helping increase capacity and reduce waiting times across Scotland.

Today, our volunteers had the opportunity to step behind the scenes and experience the NHS Scotland Academy as part of !

From exploring the Skills and Simulation Centre to getting hands-on with training equipment, it was a fantastic way to showcase how learning and innovation support patient care across Scotland.

Our volunteers play a vital role in supporting patients, visitors and staff every day, and it was great to give them insight into another important part of our Golden Jubilee campus.
