For many men affected by testicular cancer, the hardest part is often when everyone else thinks you’re “back to normal”.
You ring the bell. Treatment ends. People tell you how lucky you are. How strong you’ve been. How glad they are that you’re “ok”. But the reality can be very different.
We regularly hear from men struggling with the trauma of a cancer diagnosis, anxiety around recurrence, fertility worries, body confidence, identity, masculinity, the long term effects of chemotherapy, low testosterone, and the pressure to just “get on with it”. That’s why support matters.
At Cahonas Scotland, we support men beyond the diagnosis itself. From our “You’ve Got This” chemo care packs designed to make treatment that little bit easier, to peer support from others who have already gone through testicular cancer, to our Check In Room at Cahonas HQ, community get togethers, and our Check One Two podcast, which has become a support tool for many men and families navigating a diagnosis, we want people to know they don’t need to carry it all on their own.
Because surviving cancer and living with what comes after are not always the same thing.
