People of Faifley and beyond ❤️
We wanted to share a wee update with you all about the pavilion project and some absolutely amazing news for our community 🙏
Although things may have looked a bit quiet from the outside, behind the scenes it’s been full steam ahead and we are so proud to finally share where things are at.
We are absolutely delighted and incredibly grateful to have been awarded £100,000 of Pride in Place Impact UK Government funding secured by Douglas McAllister for West Dunbartonshire for West Dunbartonshire for OUR community ❤️
This funding is huge for a community organisation like ours. It shows belief in what we are trying to build together here in Faifley and gives us the opportunity to create something truly special for our community not just for now, but for future generations too.
This funding is in addition to the works already being carried out and committed to by West Dunbartonshire Council, HubWest and Morrison Construction. We are currently waiting on HubWest and Morrison Construction making their final commitment so we can move into the next exciting stage and hopefully confirm a start date for the works 🙏
The extra funding allows us to strengthen and build on those plans even further so the pavilion can become a real community hub somewhere full of life, activity, support and pride ❤️
Last year we were also supported by West Dunbartonshire Council to secure £150,000 of capital funding, and we are continuing to work hard to increase that funding through other funders so we can fully upgrade the top football pitch 👏
We also have exciting plans to completely transform the bottom pitch into something families, children and young people in Faifley can truly enjoy and be proud of ❤️
What this means for our community is massive.
It means having a place that is community led and community focused at its heart. A place where people can come together, where groups, clubs, activities and events can grow. A place where support and resources can be brought directly into the community where they are needed most.
We want this hub to help tackle isolation, improve mental health and wellbeing, encourage social inclusion and create opportunities for people of all ages. We want it to be somewhere people can share ideas, build friendships and feel part of something positive ❤️
Most importantly, we want it to be a place where the people of Faifley can flourish together.
We honestly could not have got this far without the support of our community and we are so thankful to every single person and organisation who has believed in us and backed our vision ❤️
At the same time, we do need to say how disappointing it has been to see vandalism at the building and football pitches over the past few months.
Every bit of damage takes money away from the project money that should be going directly back into improving facilities and creating opportunities for the community. Repairing vandalism reduces the impact we can make and slows down progress for everyone.
We truly hope that moving forward people will see the value in what is being created here for them, their families and future generations, and help us protect and look after it together ❤️
This project belongs to all of us.
So from the bottom of our hearts — thank you ❤️
Faifley, we’ve done this together, and we cannot wait to welcome every one of you through the doors when the project is finally complete ❤️
