Over the last two days our personnel from Clydebank completed their Water Safety & Rescue (WSAR) training on the Clyde 🌊.

Officer’s were put through their paces by full time Coastguard staff covering water rescue swimming and wading techniques for flooding incident’s.

Thank you to Greenock Coastguard Rescue Team for their support over the last couple of days. 🙏

This week’s training looked at the role of OIC, recapped Bankside Safety Systems, Caterpillar Stretcher Recovery & Casualty Care.

This coming week will see our CRO’s begin their Water Rescue 🛟 training journey.

Our Clydebank based team have continued their CRO basic training over the last two weeks covering safe helicopter boarding operations and landing site set up, this is in advance of future training and deployment with Coastguard Rescue helicopters.

At the weekend, the team also completed their first local training session lead by the newly appointed Station Officer.

Week 1 ✅.

Personnel from Clydebank CRT have now completed their week 1 new entrants training course after successfully taking part in their first live play exercise covering all new skills that they had been taught across the week.

Thank you to our serving officers from Greenock Coastguard Rescue Team & Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team for support across the week.

A busy couple of days for our Clydebank based team covering multiple subjects and having now begun their Coastguard Emergency Responder Casualty Care course (CERCC)🆘.

Today we were also delighted to meet with Senior Leaders from HM Coastguard who warmly welcomed and thanked our team for their role as Coastguard Rescue Officers and serving their community.

As we move towards the end of the week, personnel will take part in their first exercise and knowledge checks, testing everything that they have learned this week.

Day 1 🚨

A warm welcome to our 10 new CRO’s who have now begun their training journey in Clydebank.

Personnel took part in a variety of subjects from the induction process, knot work, communication training and a bulk of theory.

Our officers will continue their training journey for the next 2 months before becoming operational and responding to incidents on the Clyde.

Our brand new station in Clydebank is now set up and ready to welcome our first cohort of Coastguard Rescue Officers into the service within the station.

We look forward to welcoming them into the Coastguard family and we will share their journey across the way.
