Today the Adventurers spent an amazing day visiting the military museum on Chicksands Army Camp. They had snack in the beautiful walled garden, smelling the flowers and walking round the labyrinth. Then they visited the museum, learning about the role of the armed forces, looking at memorabilia and trying on some uniform! Thank you so much Julie & Justin for arranging such a memorable day!

πŸ…πŸŒΌ Come with us to the allotment!

Today, our little growers got their hands dirty planting tomatoes and marigolds. From digging holes and gently tucking in roots to sharing their expert gardening advice, every step was led by curious minds and muddy hands!

Did you know marigolds are often planted alongside tomatoes to help keep pests away?

We can't wait to watch our small plants (and small gardeners) grow over the last few weeks of term.

Who's placing bets on who spots the first tomato? πŸ‘€πŸ…

Today the Adventurers tried some whittling, learning the difference between green wood and rotten wood, comparing how easy it was to work with. They were all amazing and waited so patiently for their turn, sharing the safety rules to any new friends joining the tool circle. They carefully adjusted their pressure and technique through trail and error and demonstrated excellent safely and listening skills. All the videoing and camera work was done by the children too! Well done Adventurers, and happy Friday all!

πŸ₯”πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸŽ¨ Today, some of our two-year-olds enjoyed a walk to the Community Hub to collect potatoes for a special creative activity.

The children practised walking safely and sensibly within the community, listening carefully to instructions and showing growing awareness of how to keep themselves and others safe.

Back in the setting, the children took part in preparing the potatoes for printing. They carefully used knives to cut the potatoes, developing their hand-eye coordination, concentration and confidence while practising important real-life skills.

The children showed great responsibility as they learned how to handle tools safely and purposefully.

Once the potatoes were ready, the children used them to create colourful prints, exploring the primary colours they have been focusing on and discovering what happens when colours are mixed together.

It was wonderful to see the children so engaged throughout the experience, building independence, learning practical life skills and expressing their creativity through play and exploration. 🌈✨
