π₯πΆββοΈπ¨ Today, some of our two-year-olds enjoyed a walk to the Community Hub to collect potatoes for a special creative activity.
The children practised walking safely and sensibly within the community, listening carefully to instructions and showing growing awareness of how to keep themselves and others safe.
Back in the setting, the children took part in preparing the potatoes for printing. They carefully used knives to cut the potatoes, developing their hand-eye coordination, concentration and confidence while practising important real-life skills.
The children showed great responsibility as they learned how to handle tools safely and purposefully.
Once the potatoes were ready, the children used them to create colourful prints, exploring the primary colours they have been focusing on and discovering what happens when colours are mixed together.
It was wonderful to see the children so engaged throughout the experience, building independence, learning practical life skills and expressing their creativity through play and exploration. πβ¨
