We are incredibly fortunate to have such an outstanding post-primary school right on our doorstep. Our pupils had a wonderful day and thoroughly enjoyed every opportunity on offer. Thank you for making them feel so welcome. 👏😊

🚜Faith, Farming and a Ferguson🚜

A big thank you to Rev Frazer and Rural Chaplain - Kenny Hanna for an enjoyable and informative morning. Kenny shared a lovely Bible message alongside some vital farm safety advice for our boys and girls.

The Massey Ferguson proved a great talking point and a perfect reminder that safety always comes first on the farm.

P6 and P7 had a fantastic time at the school pond today, pond dipping and identifying a wide range of pond creatures. 🐸🦗🪲

The learning didn’t stop there. Back in the classroom, the children used the data they had collected to create frequency tables and present their findings using line graphs. A wonderful example of practical, hands-on learning that combined science, numeracy and teamwork. 📊🌿

We were delighted to welcome Anna from HSENI to Carntall Primary School to speak to the boys and girls about farm safety.

This is such an important topic in our rural community, and we are grateful to Anna for sharing her knowledge and helping our pupils learn how to stay safe on and around farms.

P3/4 enjoyed giving and receiving feedback on their explanation writing today. Using “What Went Well” and “Even Better If”, pupils reflected on their own work and supported their classmates with positive, constructive suggestions.

Peer and self-assessment help children become more confident, independent learners by encouraging them to recognise their strengths and identify their next steps for improvement.
