Summer Garden Party 2026

Last week, the annual summer ball took place. At the summer garden party there was BBQ food, drinks, games and the unit band played a set of songs.

It was a great evening and a chance for OCdts to celebrate the end of the academic year.

This is just one example of one of the events in the social calendar that OCdts are able to attend as part of Bristol UOTC.

Queens Challenge Cup 2026 🏆

A huge congratulations to all the OCdts from SWOTR who competed this year, and to everyone who came out to support.

An outstanding performance across the board, with SWOTR not only taking the overall win but also delivering incredible results in multiple events:

🥇 Hockey
🥇 Old College Dash
🥈 Netball
🥈 Football
🥉 Rugby

A big thank you to all the staff and sports captains whose hard work, organisation, and training made this success possible.

Well done to everyone who participated!

OCdt Landale and OCdt Loughnane were selected to represent SWOTR at the 6th Annual International Forum for Peace, Security and Prosperity, alongside representatives from over 20 nations, held in Sicily.

This years theme was, ‘Creating Adaptive Forces: Building Military Resilience in a Changing International Landscape,’ this set the tone for a week of insightful briefings, panel discussions, and workshops that focused on adaptive leadership and military resilience.

It was a fantastic experience to connect with like minded individuals from across the international community.

Ex Basic Shooter

Last weekend, OCdts from Colenso Company travelled to Straight Point Range to complete a live firing package.

OCdts began by zeroing their ri**es before firing a series of shoots from multiple positions including: prone, kneeling, standing, squatting, and sitting, focusing on achieving consistent grouping.

It was a great opportunity to develop marksmanship skills and build confidence on the range prior to ADX.
