Green Explorers is a Woodland Play Group based in our woodland site at Whitechapel Primary School in Cleckheaton. The aim is to create a safe woodland space where families can explore and play, benefiting from being outdoors and having fun together. It is a welcoming non-judgemental space where parents and carers can support each other and make connections. The group is primarily aimed for prescho

🐾 Family Saturday's Woodland Playgroup, up to 11 years, 10am-12pm. Here's what to expect at Green Explorers;
🌳 A private woodland space which has been developed as a safe and welcoming space for families.
β˜• Hot drinks for everyone (tea, coffee, hot chocolate) plus toasted marshmallows and biscuits around the campfire.
🐌 A wide range of play activities available throughout including; mud kitchen, digging zone, construction role play, minibeast hunting, exploration, swings and hammock.
πŸ–ŒοΈ A different craft each week, usually linked to the seasons.
🌞 Seasonal activities and resources appear as the seasons change. Birthday party and group bookings available;

Celebrate in style in our own woods based in Cleckheaton! Have sole use of the space for your child’s birthday party which includes; hotdogs, toasted marshmallows, popcorn and hot chocolate around the fire for all children, hot drinks for all adults, free play activities, a craft of choice and personalised sustainable craft goody bag from Scraptastic for all children to take home. Parties can be themed with an activity or craft, themes could be; dinosaurs, fairies, pirates, the hungry caterpillar, stickman etc... If you have an idea, we'll do our best to accommodate it. Cost: Β£165 for up to 15 children, Β£8.50 per additional child up to 20 children. Green Explorers Group Bookings 🌷
We offer group bookings in the woods. Have sole use of our woods in Cleckheaton for your group which includes; toasted marshmallows and hot chocolate around the fire for all children, hot drinks for all adults, free play activities such as mud kitchen, construction zone, minibeast hunting and den building and a themed craft activity. Group bookings are suitable for any groups of children who will attend with adults who take responsibility for their care throughout. Such as; individuals who wish to make a booking together, a group of childminders, existing groups such as guiding and scouting, support groups, nurseries and out of school clubs. You can make an owl to take home, read owl stories and try some feather painting.

We'll have all our usual play activities and campfire for snacks.

We're open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9.45-11.45am, plus Saturday afternoon for our fully booked Owl Special.

Before half term we said farewell to Emily who has been doing her university placement with Green Explorers since January.
She is just about to finish her second year studying Playwork and Child Development at Leeds Beckett University and her placement was a big part of her studies.
If you've met Emily at Green Explorers, I'm sure you'll agree that she's been a great addition and wish her well in her future studies and career.
Emily has got stuck into everything thrown at her and with a smile too. It's been a pleasure working with her and I'm sad to see her move on.

Founder of Green Explorers and pretty much a one woman show πŸ˜… From delivery of sessions to social media to woodland maintenance, it's me!

I've been running Green Explorers for nearly 4 years and it's mostly fab! Providing opportunity for children and families to play out is my passion, when the weather is dire it does get tricky but it's worth it seeing you all enjoy playing, connecting, chilling and exploring πŸ‘

At the moment times are a bit tough, they are tough on us all but those of us who run small businesses are noticing a change.
In general there are less of you coming to play, this may be for lots of reasons, but I just want to remind you that I'm here and waiting to welcome you to the woods 😊
I get an email for every single booking and I genuinely value every single booking, you all keep my little dream going and I hope to be here for years to come 🀞
