🍦❄️ Today at preschool we’ve been exploring the topic of Seasons! The children had so much fun making their own colourful ice lollies using tissue paper and craft sticks. ☀️🌈
As we talked about the signs of Summer, we discussed how warmer weather helps ice lollies melt, the colours we might see in nature, and the different things we enjoy doing during sunny days. The children carefully scrunched, stuck, and layered tissue paper to create their unique designs. ✂️🖍️
We loved hearing the children talk about their favourite seasons and summer treats while proudly showing off their creations! 🍧💛

🌻✨ Our Little Gardeners Exploring Life Cycles ✨🌻
Today our children became curious little gardeners as they explored the life cycle of a sunflower in our tuff tray activity! The children worked together to organise the different stages, carefully looking at how a tiny seed grows and changes into a tall, beautiful sunflower 🌱🌼

The children loved talking about each stage of the life cycle — from the seed hidden underground, to the first little shoot appearing, growing leaves and buds, and finally blooming into a bright sunflower.✨

Using the trays, pots and gardening tools made the activity even more exciting and helped bring our learning to life. 🌿💛

🌸✨ Our new Preschool display board is up! ✨🌸
“Watch Us Bloom” perfectly captures our preschool children as they learn, grow and flourish every single day 💛
The children had so much fun getting creative with handprint flowers, colourful butterflies, busy bees, ladybirds and beautiful rainbows. We also explored lots of lovely new words linked to feelings, nature and the world around us 🌈🐞🐝
Every piece of artwork is unique, just like the children who made it, and we are so proud of the care, creativity and imagination they put into our display 🌼✨

🐸💚 Ribbit, ribbit… our preschoolers have been busy exploring the life cycle of a frog! 💚🐸
Today’s tuff tray was full of ponds, lily pads, frogspawn, tadpoles and lots of little frogs for the children to discover and play with. The children loved splashing, exploring and chatting about how frogs grow and change 🐸✨
There were lots of lovely conversations, imaginative storytelling and hands-on learning as the children moved through each stage of the frog’s journey. Some even enjoyed pretending to be jumping frogs themselves! 💦🌿
We have loved watching their excitement and wonder throughout this topic 💚

Today in Preschool we explored our topic of “Lifecycles” by learning about the life cycle of a butterfly! 🐛🦋
The children used different types of pasta to represent each stage of the lifecycle — tiny pasta for the eggs, pasta shapes for the caterpillar, shell pasta for the chrysalis, and bow-tie pasta for the butterfly.
This hands-on creative activity encouraged the children to think about how living things grow and change over time.
Together we talked about how a caterpillar changes and grows into a butterfly, helping the children understand the world around them in a fun and meaningful way. The activity also encouraged lots of chatting, storytelling, and learning new words as the children confidently explained each stage of the lifecycle. 🌱

Twinkle, twinkle little tooth fairy! 🦷✨
As part of our “Looking After Our Teeth” topic this week, the children created their very own tooth fairy wands. Using stars, gems, ribbons and tooth shapes, the children carefully selected and stuck the pieces together to design their magical wands.
While creating, we talked about the importance of brushing our teeth, keeping them healthy and strong, and what happens when our teeth fall out. The children loved sharing their ideas about the tooth fairy and excitedly spoke about putting their teeth under their pillows at home!
A magical way to make learning about oral health fun and engaging! 💛

Keeping little smiles bright! 🦷✨
Today the children enjoyed a hands-on activity all about looking after our teeth. They carefully stuck pieces of cotton wool onto a tooth shape to create their own big, fluffy tooth before practising brushing it clean.
The children showed great focus and independence while gluing and placing each piece, supporting their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. As they worked, we talked about how we brush our teeth every day to keep them healthy and strong.
A lovely mix of creativity and learning, helping to build healthy habits through play 💚

🦕 Brushing Dinosaurs’ Teeth 🪥
As part of our “Looking After Our Teeth” topic, the children had lots of fun exploring a dinosaur-themed tuff tray filled with bubbly, soapy water, toothbrushes, and mirrors. They loved pretending to be dentists, carefully brushing the dinosaurs’ teeth and chatting about how we keep our own teeth clean and healthy.
Through this playful experience, children developed self-care awareness, communication skills, and fine motor control as they practised brushing movements and shared ideas with their friends.
🦷 Keep those little smiles shining – don’t forget to brush twice a day! ✨

Today in preschool we’ve been busy caring for our poorly teddy as part of our People Who Help Us topic 🧸💛
The children explored the important role of vets, talking about how they help animals when they are hurt or unwell. Using plasters and number matching, they carefully treated teddy’s injuries, developing their fine motor skills and early maths understanding along the way.
Through imaginative play, the children showed empathy, kindness, and a growing awareness of how people in our community help others. It was lovely to see their confidence grow as they took on the role of a vet 🩹🐾

📮 Special delivery! 📮
This week we’ve been busy playing post office as part of our “People Who Help Us” theme 💌 The children loved becoming little postal workers—sorting letters, posting them into the right boxes, and imagining where each one might be heading!
There were lots of conversations about who sends us letters, what might be inside, and even who in their family they would like to write to 🥰
It’s been such a joy watching their imaginations come to life—future posties in the making! 🚚📬
