1st Chinnor Scout group are holding our AGM at the scout hut, 7pm, Tuesday 22nd October.
If you would like to come along, find out what we have been up to in the past 12 months, find out our plans for the coming 12 months, and maybe, just maybe come and find out about volunteering with us, not just as leaders but also in other areas of our group.

Remember remember this Sunday!!!
Ok I know that doesn't work, but just a reminder that 1st Chinnor Scout Group is having a table top sale 2pm-4pm on Sunday!!
Prices start at 50p, and we are happy to barter!!!!
Lots and lots and lots of face paint sets £2, perfect to stock up for Halloween, loads of fluro light sticks to go raving with.
Family tents, battery powered lights, wind up lights and a bit more.

1st Chinnor Scout group are fundraising once again!!
We have gone through our stores with a fine toothed comb and have found lots of items that need replacing.
We have also found lots of items that we can sell at very reasonable prices, from family tents to a salmon steamer (???????)
We are going to be holding a table top sale at the scout hut on the 21st August (this Sunday) 2pm-4pm so come and test your bartering skills against some of our scouts.
Some of the items that will be there:
Family tents
Battery lanterns
Salmon steamer
Burger press
Large cool box
Camping cutlery and crockery
Plus lots lots more.

Cash only as we don't have a card machine but there are some good bargains to be had!!

Our AGM will be being held at 730pm on Friday 15th July at the scout hut, followed by family bingo.

Currently our waiting Beaver, Cubs and Scout troops are full.
Our waiting list is also very full so for the time being we are closing admissions for the waiting list, unless your child is under 4 and then by the time they are 6 we should have space!!
Thame, Radnage, Princess Risborough, Haddenham all have sections and may well have spaces.

We are sorry that we can not take on anymore children at the moment and we have not taken the decision to shut the waiting list at this time lightly.
As soon as we either gain a lot more volunteers to open new sections or get through our current waiting list we will start letting admissions in once again.

Just a reminder that entries are now open for our fantastic 1st Chinnor Scout Group Christmas Quiz and scavenger hunt!!

It's £10 per team (max 10 people per team) it's all done online via Google forms (scavenger hunt submission to 1st chinnor Scout Group page) and can be done daily or save your forms up and do them all in one day to try and get rid of that New year's Eve hangover!!
There is even a raffle to win some excellent prizes!
Not only will you be helping continue the work we do but you will have fun, and maybe learn so e new trivia along the way.
Each day you will get emailed a Google form to fill out and the link for the leader board.
All you need to do is put your answers to the questions and then send it back.
The final marking will happen in the 2nd January with the cash prizes for the 3 top teams being announced that day.
What do you get for your £10 per team entry money?
16 days of excellent quiz questions
2 free raffle tickets (more can be bought for £1.50 a ticket or £5 for 5 tickets)
A Christmas themed Scavenger hunt

We are now back to face to face scouting which is excellent!!
We have been joined by our new scouts moved up from Cubs and our first session back we went for a hike to see the sunset over Chinnor.
We have also been gifted wood for future camps AND we have started an allotment group on Sundays.
The scouts have worked wonders in 4 weeks to transform a derelict allotment to getting it ready to rotavate and hopefully put in some plants for a wildlife garden.
We even made a hedgehog house.
Next step, a pond and plant grass seeds to make isolated plots to grow fruit and veg

As we near the end of another term in lockdown, I thought we should update on how we have been keeping the scouts entertained via zoom.
We have played, among us and scribble (that was great fun!!) We did a life auction, we did our own dragons den, we talked about map reading, we did kahoot quizzes galore and have our parents Vs Scouts Kahoot quiz next week and of course it would not be a 1st Chinnor scout groups lockdown term with out doing a zoom cooking session!!

Thank you everyone who has so far signed up for the 1st Chinnor Scouts Group Chistmas quiz!!
Day 1 of the quiz will start to go out tomorrow morning (probably around 630am) so keep an eye out for an email from [email protected] (check your junk folder if you have not already added this address to your contacts!!)
There is still plenty of time to sign up as we are giving people until 1st January 2021 to complete the quiz.
Its £10 per team (up to 6 people) and for that £10 you will receive 12 days of questions, a scavenger hunt and 2x raffle tickets for our raffle to be held on 4th January 2021.
We have some great prizes from the local small businesses in Chinnor .
