Day 1, after a full day of travelling and body clocks in turmoil the 2 intrepid cyclists started their journey. The first day saw Dan open with a massive 244km with Dean opening with a more modest 126km. The boys have started to pedal, can we show some support ? Please follow the link on the page bio to the just giving page. A great initial effort.

“Once I’d finished my Level 3 Award in Wines, I wanted more, and when I saw that distance learning was an option for the Level 4 Diploma in Wines, I was instantly interested”.

Meet LCpl Choong who graduated in 2019 with a Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 4 in Wines... their first alumnus from the Armed Forces. How did he manage to fit in his wine studies alongside active service?

For Thomas Choong, studying for the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines was particularly challenging, he was studying "whilst on a 6-month operational tour of Iraq, with no access to wine, limited resources and not a lot of time to prepare". However, achieving the Diploma

Maj Crosby (OC 517 STRE) and others from his team were stood up in support of Op RESCRIPT over the Easter Weekend. The hybrid technical team which included WO1 Middleton, WO1 Boardman, and Spr Cotterill, carried out technical assessments across Wales to determine the Oxygen demand to hospitals.

WO1 Boardman who is a Mechanical Engineering Design Consultant, used his experience of having worked with both medical and industrial oxygen systems to make decisive decisions when conducting the recce tasks.

The team head back to Wales tomorrow morning where they will continue their support to NHS Wales.

Soldiers helping to build a temporary hospital for coronavirus patients in Manchester have been described as "astonishing" by the hospital's project leader. The amazing effort of those from 527 STRE who are on the ground will make a real difference when the facility opens in the coming days.

Due to the speed these Nightingale hospitals need to be built in the military have been working around the clock alongside civilians.
