Over the last few weeks we’ve been looking at The Story Of Mr Tongue!
This is a wonderful story which supports children in developing the movement needed for speech and helps children to recognise the different parts of their mouth, such as their lips, teeth and tongue 😋 For our children who are still developing their speech this is a fun and interactive way to support them!

This week our babies have been developing their independence by helping to make play dough! This is a lovely way to……
🩷 Develop their motor skills through pouring, scooping and using spoons to mix!
💛 Explore different textures and have a new sensory experience!
🩵 Develop their language by rolling, pushing and squeezing the play dough!
And it is such a lovely way to make the children feel involved in making their nursery experience so much fun!

Exciting things are happening in the Family Hub!

From tomorrow, work starts to create a much more family friendly space that enables families with young children to stay, play, explore and interact !

This space will be available to access from 9.15am daily and with support from Hub Staff.

We hope this becomes a special area for families to make the most of the space on offer 😃

A really big thank you to Becky, one of our parents, for bringing in the family pet ‘tippy mango’, a bearded dragon. The children loved meeting him, feeling him and learning about what he likes. Becky also spoke to the children about her job as a veterinary nurse and let them have a turn using her stethoscope 😊

The children have been exploring our new (work in progress!) sensory area 😊 By gradually introducing the new resources into the area, we have been able to support the children in learning how to use them, when to use them and how to take care of them ♥️ There was lots of fascination over the bubble tube, hands on curiosity over the sequin teddies, and lots of relaxing and being calm on the beanbags ✨

This week in the up to 3s’ the children have been exploring the new mud kitchen! We have loved seeing all the wonderful role play experiences where the children have been making “cupcakes”, “pancakes”, “tea” and lots more for their friends and teachers!

The mud kitchen is a lovely way for the children to learn about the world around them, how to take care of plants and develop their motor skills through tipping and pouring!

Kat, our regular volunteer, made tasty energy ball snacks with some of the children today consisting of oats, dates, chocolate powder and maple syrup (recipe hopefully to follow soon in a simple recipe book for you to try at home!) The children enjoyed measuring, scooping, pouring, mixing, rolling and talking about food that gives them energy! Thank you Kat for providing an exciting cooking experience for our children ♥️
