Family Information Service - West Sussex FIS provides information on finding/paying for childcare and activities/support services for families

The Family Information Service (FIS) can help you with:
- Finding good quality childcare, including childminders, nurseries, pre-schools and out-of-school clubs
- Free Childcare places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds and help with the cost of childcare
- Extra help for parents and carers with bespoke childcare needs including school pick-up services
- Advice and support with starting school, early education and learning
- Complaints about childcare providers
- Information on county and local activities for your family, i.e. Parent and Toddler groups, leisure activities, Children and Family Centres and Toy Libraries, Sensory toy libraries and Early Years Hubs based at CFCs
- Support groups and services

We are the only locally authorised service to receive daily updates from Ofsted, who are responsible for childcare registration. Information is available on our website and by phone, post, or email. You can contact us as many times as you like and it is always free of charge. Do you have experience in child development in the early years?

Are you passionate about inclusion and supporting children with SEND?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Education and Skills Service as an Early Years SEND and Inclusion Mentor. Working closely with Early Years and Childcare Advisors, you will help put children first and improve outcomes for children and families across West Sussex.

We are looking for someone with the skills and knowledge to help identify and support appropriate provision for children with SEND, ensuring they receive the best possible outcomes. You will also support practitioners to follow a graduated approach in line with the SEN Code of Practice.
