There have been some key changes this year that employers need to be aware of…

✨ From February 2026
• Simplified requirements for trade unions, including industrial action

✨ From April 2026
• Statutory Sick Pay expanded – no earnings threshold & no waiting period
• Day-one rights to Paternity Leave & Unpaid Parental Leave
• New leave rights for bereaved partners
• Increased penalties for non-compliance in collective redundancies
• Stronger whistleblowing protections (especially around sexual harassment)
• Introduction of the Fair Work Agency to support compliance
• Employers must keep holiday pay records for 6 years
• Large employers (250+) encouraged to publish gender pay gap action plans & menopause support
• Simpler trade union recognition process

Now is the perfect time to review your policies, processes, and compliance to stay ahead.
