Wet commute or school run? 🌧️

With a number of wet weather warnings in place, please take care out on the roads.

Our advice for wet weather driving:

Slow down, wet roads reduce traction.

Keep a bigger gap between you and the car ahead.

Avoid harsh braking or sharp steering.

Use headlights so others can see you.

If you start to aquaplane: ease off the accelerator and steer gently.

If you come across a flooded road, fallen tree, or other obstacle when driving? Contact your local authority, in an emergency or serious road traffic collision contact police on 999.

We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Selsey Road, Sidlesham.

The incident occurred at about 11.30pm last night.

A 27-year-old woman riding a blue motorcycle sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. No other vehicles were involved.

Her next of kin have been informed, and police are urging anyone with any information to come forward.

Police are working to identify the driver of a vehicle after a collision took place in Market Avenue, Chichester, on Friday, August 7, at around 5.40pm.

The collision, which involved and a car and a cyclist, left the cyclist with cuts and bruises. The car, described as green jaguar with a female driver, did not stop at the scene.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a woman was confronted by a man acting indecently in Selsey on Monday afternoon, 24 August.

The man appeared on a footpath leading from the Church Norton car park that leads on to Pagham nature reserve and then again in the car park at about 2.15pm.

He is described as white, 20, 5’11” with short brown hair and wearing grey shorts and a white T shirt.

If anyone has information or dashcam footage that could help in the investigation, they should contact police on 101, quoting serial 799 of 24/08.
