♻️ Recycle right this Recycle Week! ♻️

Did you know that all recycling placed inside your recycling bin should be clean, dry and loose?

Why does it matter?

🫧 Clean: items with food and drinks leftovers can spoil the rest of the recycling in your bin. Make sure you give items a quick rinse before placing in your recycling bin.

🚱 Dry: wet cardboard and paper cannot be recycled. Keep your bin lid closed.

🚮Loose: bagged up recycling cannot be processed at the recycling facility. Always put your recycling loose in your bin.

Don’t let your good recycling go to waste – follow these three easy steps to make sure we can recycle as much of your waste as possible.

📣 Latest news 📣

A major coastal flood prevention scheme for the Selsey coastline has been approved for engagement with local residents later this autumn.

The Selsey Coastal Scheme has been developed by Chichester District Council’s coastal engineering experts at Coastal Partners and aims to manage coastal flood and erosion risk along approximately 4.5km of coastline, better protecting 3,900 properties over 100 years. The scheme will replace aging defences and increase protection levels to deal with sea level rise and increased likelihood of storms.

‘What about food waste collections for flats?’

We will begin rolling out food waste collections for flats and properties that share bins in Autumn 2026. More information will be provided nearer the time.

Each individual household will be provided with a kitchen caddy and a roll of compostable liners. There will also be a shared food waste bin, which will be added to the shared bins store or bin area.

Where there is limited space for additional bins, our team will work with the managing agent to find a suitable alternative location. The shared food waste bins will be emptied weekly.
