It's Zero Waste Week, and we're counting down to zero with a simple waste prevention idea every day.

Here are two simple ways to help make the most of the food you buy:

- Check use-by dates and use food that needs eating first
- Save leftovers for another meal instead of throwing them away

Small changes like these can help you get more food and prevent food from going to waste.

It's Zero Waste Week, and we're counting down to zero with a simple waste prevention idea every day.

Before something becomes waste, could you give it another purpose?

- Reuse containers and packaging around the home
- Find a new use for something you no longer need
- Pass useful items on to friends, family or your local community.

Reusing what we already have can help reduce waste and make the most of the resources that went into making those items in the first place.

Zero Waste Week starts today, and we're counting down to zero with a simple waste prevention idea every day.

To get us started, here are four things you can try:

♻️ Choose reusable alternatives where you can
🔧 See if you can repair something before replacing it
🍽️ Plan meals before you go shopping to avoid buying too much
💚 Donate unwanted items for someone else to use

You don't have to change everything at once. Small changes can help keep useful items in use for longer and prevent waste.
