Wingerworth & Rural and Clay Cross SNT officers have been out and about conducting speed checks in a couple of our hotspot areas, which have been highlighted to us due to speed at certain times during the day.

You may have seen us at Cutthorpe on Main Road through the village, and also on Coney Green Clay Cross.

There were no issues to report today, but we will continue to move around our beat areas to ensure that motorists stick to 30/40mph limits where applicable. Thank you to the motorists that showed their appreciation 👍🏼

Another brilliant event yesterday at the Wingerworth Fun Day.

Our presence as always, was well received by the younger and older members of the community.

If you signed up to Derbyshire Alert yesterday, the Prize Draw will take place soon for the Police Bear and the Goody bag. You will be notified in due course if you are the winner.

Thank you to the organisers for putting together a fantastic event, your hard work has not gone unnoticed.

The weather stayed dry… for some ….as you can see ! Well done to all those who were also brave enough to spend time in the Stocks and helped raise some money for our Wingerworth Schools.

See you all next year!

Hello, I wanted to reach out again as the Local Policing Inspector for North East Derbyshire and Bolsover. Since my last update we have successfully implemented the safer neighbourhood team uplift across the area that has brought an additional sergeant and additional police constables to the existing team.

There are 17 distinct beat areas across North East Derbyshire and Bolsover, and this uplift has allowed me to create three teams to create a better focus on tackling local issues whilst also being able to work as a collective when required. These are:

Dronfield, Killamarsh & Clowne SNT under Sergeant Molloy
Bolsover & Shirebrook SNT under Sergeant Whyte
Clay Cross SNT under Sergeant Jones

The local priorities for all of the beat areas have just been updated which can all be reviewed at:

North East | Derbyshire Constabulary- North East | Derbyshire Constabulary

If you want to assist with how these are selected in the next cycle, review our work towards these priorities, or just want to give feedback around the area you live or work in, then please look to attend a local community catchup event or by completing the Community Voice survey at the below link:

Community Voice – Derbyshire Alert- Community Voice - Derbyshire Alert

Your feedback is invaluable and plays a key role in informing and renewing our neighbourhood policing priorities.

As we now enter the Summer months, I will ensure your local officers are as visible and accessible as they can be in the community. The team as a whole has completed 750 local engagements in 2026 so far, and I want nothing less than the team being the most accessible and visible safer neighbourhood team in the county.

I hope you all have a great Summer, and I look forward to feeding back some of the great proactive work we are completing currently in my next report to you.

The Wingerworth Fun Day is fast approaching and as per usual, Wingerworth Safer Neighbourhood Team will be present with the ever popular van with prisoner holding area, a chance for those who have yet to try the delights of being locked in the back of a police vehicle….regular attendees need not apply !

We will be offering advice on just about anything and also, giving you the opportunity to sign up for Derbyshire Alerts, a free messaging system that provides updates from the police, direct to your email. Once signed up, this will automatically enter you in to a prize draw to win a goodie bag and mystery prize.

PSCO Montisci, on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary has been brave enough to volunteer for the ‘Stocks and Wet Sponge Event’, so if you feel the need to release some tension, then here’s your chance, and you will also be helping your local schools to raise some funds. ( Sponges Provided By The Organisers Thank You ).

Come and support this local event on Saturday 13th June from 1pm, we can’t wait !

Yesterday, Saturday 6th June was the National Day of Action for E-Scooters.

SNT officers were cracking down on electric scooters across North East Derbyshire, enforcing against illegal and dangerous users, creating safer streets for everyone.

E-Scooters are becoming a fast-growing way of people travelling around, but when they are used illegally and irresponsibly, they pose a real danger to those riding them and pedestrians and drivers. And unfortunately, we are seeing more collisions, more injuries and more lives being put at risk by electric scooters.

What is the law?

Electric scooters are classed as powered transporters and fall within the definition of a motor vehicle under the Road Traffic Act 1998. This means that the same rules apply to electric scooters that apply to other vehicles, including licensing, insurance, MOT and tax.
