With Chesterfield canal basin at its heart, the £340 million development will elevate the profile of the town, creating a sense of arrival and a new landmark. The mixed-use scheme is one of the UK's largest regeneration projects and is designed to be a thriving, sustainable community in the heart of Chesterfield. It will become a focal point for businesses, workers, investors and residents alike,
all benefiting from the development’s central location, great transport links and contemporary styling. Around 1,200 homes and more than 30,000m² of flexibly-designed business space, including offices, shops, bars, cafes and hotels are all planned for the 16 hectare site. And they can all be easily accessed from Chesterfield's train station or by car from junction 29 of the M1. The first phase of homes are already built and occupied in The Park neighbourhood. Avant Homes is currently on site building and 173 two, three and four-bedroom homes within the Waterside Quarter neighbourhood. Construction began in October 2020 on the office accommodation at Basin Square. Together, this exciting scheme will create a vibrant new canalside environment for business, investors and residents in Chesterfield.
