Loneliness Awareness Week
8-14 June

1 million older people haven’t spoken to anyone in a month and 4 million say the television is their main form of company.

Chesham Town Council, with the help of a grant from Heart of Bucks & support from Age UK Buckinghamshire, set up monthly coffee mornings at the Stage Door Cafe at The Elgiva with the aim of supporting older residents, those who may be lonely or looking for company.

If you know of a family member, neighbour or friend who you feel would benefit from joining us please share these details. Transport can be provided.

We are almost full but we can squeeze just a couple more in! Please email [email protected]

The market section is open from 12pm to 6pm. Other attractions are bands, dancing and lots of free activities for children. It is a very busy day. It is a narrow High Street so everybody passes close to all the stalls.

The High Street festival Hats Off Chesham! is in its sixth year and is a joint venture between Chesham Connect and Chesham Town Council.

If you are interested and would like to know more, please email [email protected]. Please take a look at our FB posts to get an idea of the event.
