Salesian’s World Climate Relay 2026 has been completed! Last week, each year group collectively completed 38km of walking around the astro, showing great energy and determination (even through the rain!). The students didn’t just raise awareness, but they also raised funds to support vital climate solutions, as well their house charities. A huge well done to everyone involved for making such a meaningful difference!

Wellbeing Wednesday - parents
Resilience doesn’t just happen—it grows through our everyday interactions with children and teens. As parents and educators, we each bring our own experiences, strengths, and challenges into these relationships. Taking time to understand ourselves is a powerful step toward truly understanding and supporting the young people in our care.

Today, Dr. Tovah Klein takes the lead in this new webinar as she explores how self-awareness shapes the way we parent and teach, and how it can help us meet children’s unique needs with empathy and insight.

We say a heartfelt goodbye to our Year 11 students as they leave Salesian School today, after five memorable years of achievement, growth, and friendship.
Following an emotional leavers’ Mass, students enjoyed a well-deserved ice cream and spent the afternoon signing messages of farewell and best wishes on each other’s shirts.

We are so proud of everything they have accomplished and the young people they have become. We look forward to seeing you all again at Prom next week and remember, once a Salesian, always a Salesian.

As part of their Dialogue and Encounter unit in RE this term, some of our Year 8 students visited a Mosque on the 9th of June. A key aim of this unit is not only to learn about Islam, but to encounter and engage in meaningful dialogue with people of different faiths. Inspired by the words of Pope Franics, “If you dialogue as young people, then you will be able to do so as citizens and as members of a community.”

We were warmly welcomed by the team, who were incredibly generous hosts and even treated us all to some delicious snacks. Students had the opportunity to explore the mosque, learn more about Muslim beliefs and practices, and ask thoughtful, insightful questions throughout the visit. Their curiosity, respect, and engagement were a credit to the school, and it was clear that they thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Wellbeing Wednesday

Engage in this online webinar at the Wellbeing Hub, where Dr. Michael Ungar explores how resilience in children is so much more than individual strength. It’s shaped by the supports around them — families, schools, and communities. They'll point out nine ways families and schools can help children thrive.

The event starts at 6pm tonight and tickets are running out fast. If you are you interested, please sign up by following this link:

Salesian students recently had an incredible opportunity to visit Diamond Light Source, a particle accelerator in Oxfordshire. It is the UK’s national synchrotron and a world-leading hub for scientific discovery.

The students learned how the synchrotron generates an incredibly bright beam of light, which is channelled into specialised laboratories called beamlines — enabling detailed exploration of materials at the atomic and molecular level.
This eye-opening experience gave our students a real insight into what they are capable of through science.

Let the Games Begin at Salesian!

What a high-intensity showdown we hosted this morning at Salesian for our Mini Olympics! The arena was buzzing as Year 6 athletes from St. Anne’s, St. Cuthbert’s, and Cardinal Newman stepped up to compete, bringing energy, grit, and serious team spirit from the first whistle.

We kicked things off with explosive sprint races, setting the pace for a morning packed with competition. From there, teams powered through a circuit of seven action-packed challenges — pushing limits in high jump and long jump, showing lightning footwork in hula hoop speed drills, dialling in precision with co****le throws, testing reactions with wall ball challenges, and working tactically to conquer a live Tetris puzzle under pressure.

To close out the event, all competitors took to the court for a fast-paced, all-out dodgeball clash — a thrilling finale that had everyone on their toes and roaring with excitement!

Champions of the day: Cardinal Newman Primary School, who battled hard and earned the top spot on the podium!

But beyond the leader board, every single student delivered — showing resilience, teamwork, and determination throughout.

A huge shoutout to the coaching team behind the scenes — our dedicated teachers, supportive parents, and outstanding Sixth Form leaders — who made this event run perfectly.

Wellbeing Wednesday

Resilience isn’t something children are born with—it grows over time. As their brains develop, children learn how to manage emotions, cope with challenges, and bounce back from setbacks. Dr Tamara Scully and Alicia created a podcast on the Wellbeing Hub, which examines the concept of resilience in children and young people. Not only to help children identify with these difficulties but to also support parents/careers on how to prioritise everyday moments of connection, to foster emotional wellbeing and long-term resilience.
