Leckhampton Hill is the latest National Nature Reserve to be announced in England.
Home to a 170-million-year-old Jurassic story, the site’s extraordinary geology supports important limestone grassland, wildflowers such as common rock rose and 33 butterfly species including the rare Duke of Burgundy.
As the 15th National Nature Reserve in the King’s Series, we are proud not only to oversee and manage such a nationally important site but to make such a beautiful and tranquil escape so accessible to the many thousands of visitors who attend each year.
We marked the occasion yesterday (Thursday 4 June) by saying thank you to the community volunteers who have made the reserve what it is today.
