Sandford Lido Ltd is a charitable trust which operates Sandford Parks Lido for the benefit and enjoyment of the people of Gloucestershire and beyond. During the summer season, Sandford Parks Lido is a great day out in the heart of Cheltenham, on the edge of the Cotswolds. It is a children's paradise with slides,

☀️ SUN AWARENESS EVENT | WEDNESDAY 1st JULY

We’re teaming up with the Macmillan Skin Cancer Nurse Team & Support workers for a drop-in SunnAwareness event here at Cheltenham Lido 💚

Whether you have concerns about a mole, would like advice on protecting your skin in the sun, or simply have questions about skin cancer signs and symptoms, this is a great opportunity to speak with healthcare professionals in a relaxed setting.

The team will be on hand throughout the day to:
🔍 Discuss any skin or mole concerns
🕶️ Answer your sun safety questions
🩺 Help you recognise signs and symptoms to look out for
🧴 Share practical advice on protecting your skin this summer

All swimmers and lido visitors to the Lido are welcome to drop by the stand throughout the day for free advise and information.

💦 As a thank you to our NHS community, NHS staff can enjoy a FREE swim on the day when presenting a valid NHS ID badge.

Simply drop in, have a chat with the team, and enjoy a swim while you’re here.

📢 Important Pool & Facility Updates

Please take note of the following upcoming maintenance work and event-related changes:

🔧 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲
Essential maintenance will be taking place in the female changing rooms.
Indoor female changing rooms will be CLOSED for much of the day whilst the heating and water cylinder is replaced.

Ladies' outdoor shower push buttons will also be replaced to resolve the ongoing leak issue.
No ladies' showers will be available during this work.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience whilst these improvements are carried out.

🚗 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲
From Saturday the 6th, our car park will change to a Pay on Exit system rather than Pay on Arrival and will be charged on a 24-hour basis.

We are delighted to be hosting the European Biathle Series.
As a result, three lanes of the pool will be in use for the event, leaving one lane available for public lane swimming throughout the day.

Please plan your visit accordingly and allow extra time during busier periods.

Thank you for your understanding and we apologise to those who have experienced any difficulty with parking recently. If you have any questions, please speak to a member of the team.

Please note, we have SOLD OUT today & tomorrow for all online bookings, and cannot take bookings over the phone🌤️

Our staff are experiencing very high numbers of visitors so we do apologise if you are trying to reach us via phone - the ground team are extremely busy. We will not tolerate any anti-social behaviour.

If you are planning to visit us, we can only advise attending as a PAYG or Season Ticket walk-in space and there will be a queue.

We hold a % of walk-in spaces for each session but we CANNOT guarantee entry or wait times. If we reach capacity on site we may move to a 1-out 1-in system to ensure the environment is controlled.

Saturday & Sunday still have some online spaces available if you wish to attend 💦

☀️ Hot weather warning ☀️

Please note, we are expecting high numbers of visitors across the bank holiday weekend and throughout half term.

If you are planning to visit us, we strongly advise you book online where possible. There will be 4 queues to allow a controlled entry onto site.

Walk-in spaces will be available but please be prepared to queue and bring appropriate sun protection as there is limited shade out the front of the building.

If we hit capacity on site, we will move to a 1-out 1-in system for walk-in spaces as pre bookings will get priority. We understand this can be frustrating and unfortunately we cannot guarantee wait times.

Our staff and lifeguards are doing their best to ensure things run smoothly but we will not tolerate any anti-social behaviour. Thank you for your patience, we hope you have a wonderful time if you are visiting over the bank holiday!

Just a reminder that, as we move into the summer season, our Barrel Sauna will close for general use from Sunday - as it does at this time each year ☀️

With the warmer weather arriving, we’ll continue to offer sauna access exclusively through our Nordic Spa Experience, which provides a more relaxed, bookable and controlled environment for guests to enjoy.

As many of you will know, the Nordic Spa area is a bookable experience only. Wristbands will be issued at reception and guests using the facilities without a booking will be asked to leave the area.

We wanted to share this update in advance, particularly as the Nordic Spa area is still relatively new compared to previous years.
